Demont has announced that it has been awarded the final contract for the supply and supervision of assembly and commissioning of seven 45 T/H desalination units for the GL1Z and GL2Z complexes as part of the LQS activity of the Sonatrach Group, a leader in the African hydrocarbons sector.
This significant order follows the recent delivery of the first desalination unit at the Arzew port for the GP1Z complex and confirms Demont’s – and, more broadly, Aurora X Holding’s – role as a leading industrial partner in the region. It also represents the tangible realisation of the vision for strategic Italian-Algerian collaboration.
Thanks to Demont’s coordination, HI-PE will have the opportunity to construct the desalination units, marking its operational entry into the Algerian market and paving the way for new collaboration prospects with Sonatrach, including future joint projects.
Demont also wishes to acknowledge the invaluable support of SACE, which has played a key role in making this strategic project for Algeria’s infrastructural and industrial development possible.
This agreement also marks a significant milestone in collaboration with Somiz, the industrial maintenance division of the Sonatrach Group. A memorandum of understanding has recently been signed to facilitate the exchange of technical expertise and knowledge.
